Welcome to Angelfish Soapworks

Hello and welcome to Angelfish Soapworks. My name is Angela, and I have been making homemade soap for nearly eight years. It all started when my second child, Kari Anne, upon first wash with baby bath, turned into one big blister. After searching around for natural soap and finally settling on Burt's Bees Buttermilk Soap, I thought to myself, "I bet I could make this." I did my research, gathered my materials, absorbed every book, website, and blog out there, I tried my first batch. I nearly blew up my family's house, but this did not stop me from trying again. I am notoriously stubborn that way. The second batch turned out exceptionally well, and from there I was hooked. It became a hobby, then quickly became an addiction (this I finally admitted after realizing that I was still at it in the wee hours of the morning, meticulously bevelling edges). I started giving it away to friends and extended family as gifts, moved on to craft fairs, etsy, and here we are! I hope you enjoy the lather we create together on this blog!

Happy soaping,
Angela
